La Posada in Arlington,MA

I just had a feast of an omelette, which included CACTUS LEAVES! Delicious! They looked like peppers, and were very yummy!

Also for brunch, Mexican Toast. French Toast, but served with caramel and strawberries (and eggs & sausage)

Unique flavors combining with typical brunch meals. Even in Massachusetts!!

La Posada is on Mass Ave, I had passed it many times without even stopping, in fact, we passed 2 other more typical "American Diners" which closed at 1 & 2:30, respectively. This place was better!!

McGolrick Park

I've been through this park several times before today, and just came upon this statue (1930's style?)

Beautiful, especially around sunset. Also, this park is a lot less crowded than Williamsburg's McClarren!

Lucky Luna

You know the food is TOO good when you eat it before remembering to take photos!

I had the Pozole stew with egg. And Pork Belly & Kimchi taco. And $3 Mimosas.

Everything was a revelation, SO good. I had come here more than a year ago, but everything is NEW, not just from time, but the Mexican-Korean combo.

Great atmosphere bc of the art and the music & vibe.

My view.

And behind me. #PalmeriArt rocks!!

Come visit, often!!

Best Lunch/Coffee/Laptop Places:Lobster Joint

So far, this ranks at the top of the list.

They won't bug you if you bring your laptop: 10, especially during the lunch special, it is usually dead! (Bad for them but incredible for quiet!!)

Coffee: FREE AND FREE ENDLESS REFILLS!! Even better, it's self serve so you have to get off your ass!

Food: Above average and excellent seafood options. Also on the cheap side, I got this for $14 (which included tip!)

Room to myself, water, coffee & mussels & Mac & Cheese!!

Greenpointers Fall Market 2015

The Greenpoint Fall Market is nothing if not photogenic. These photos smell of everything beyond Pumpkin Spice.

The best thing I tried was the Pickled Okra from Brooklyn Whatever.

Crocheted everything (from hats to avocados) vintage jazz from an actual record player! (Did people actually lug them and the records to parties? Even on the subway?)

This room exemplifies everything that Greenpoint is. White Decorator Lights of Wonderlandia, where artists and artisans of their imaginations can sell everything, or at least talk to people who are as excited by the idea.

67 West Street has the best views. The event ran until 7, so I made sure to be there for the sunset.

And the moon.

Azores Grub

Currently in the Azores, where the coffee is 50 cents, the wine is a few euros for a very good bottle and the seafood is as fresh as can be!!

I don't know why I'd eat anywhere else!!

Mexican Street Food on the Street

Today was lovely in Greenpoint.

Stoop Sales and a free writers workshop at Word.

You were walking to the park by the river, where everyone hung out, even though the sun was too strong.

You bought a taco and a piece of corn rolled in cheese and spices. Yum. $6.

Better than brunch.

Utopia Diner, 72nd & Bway, Manhattan

So the picture kinda sez it all.

I came in around 11, and got a look at the breakfast menu.  Standard fare, but all the omelette stuff was over $10!  I mean, you might as well go to Sarabeths West, a few blocks away!

Unlimited coffee, standard. And terrible. You can rate it by how much cream & sugar you need at add to make it drinkable.  On a scale of 1-10, it's Diabetic. (Diabetical? Diabolical?)

Ordered the Chicken Fajita, off the lunch menu. Deluxe (fries AND 2 onion rings, yes please!) $15. Fair. Note, for some dishes, they charge extra for lettuce & tomato! Like THAT makes anything Deluxe!

When I asked them to wrap it up, after only managing half the meal, they handed me a brown bag inside a plastic bag and a TINY box for the food. Bet they threw away the fries, onion ring and lettuce. And the guac & sour cream on the side!

Bastards! Not coming back here again!

PS Older lady with querulous voice next to me. She clapped when her friend arrived. Note to older lady self. Do. Not. Clap.

Return from Florida to a warm day!!

Lovely Greenpoint!!

I found an expensive book on the street. And then a bin of them!
I went swimming and then at the bookstore around the corner, there was a *free* table!
Then ate at Anella and around the corner was 106 Green, a terrific gallery space!!

Free art on the street, too. I didn't take this framed photograph. But here it is!!
