Ye Olde Cottage Restaurante, Weston

This place has the BEST fries.

And the burgers are incredible as well.

I had to ask for pickles, but they were brought promptly.

I have to admit, this is my favorite place, genuine and NOT a chain or fancy pants place. Nothing arrogant, just a lovely family run diner.

I love going there just because it seems like a nice escape from the other lunch choices in the neighborhood.

For work lunch everyday, I pretty much have salads.

I've been trying not to eat the food of my childhood.  But I get a craving for a diet coke every now & then. And sometimes the triggers cannot be avoided.

So, near Manhattan Ave & Greenpoint Ave is a pizza place. Fancy pizza.

I've generally skipped it bc who wants to pay too much for just pizza? But they have a lunch special, Pizza & Salad for $12.

When I asked for coffee, they were only able to offer Americano.  On the plus side, they have a backyard patio.

PS. While eating this marvelous meal, I found a string of purple plastic. It looked like an onion, but on closer inspection, it was more like the wrapping of the bag that held the mussels.  (I wasn't surprised or mad, if you order a meal with shells, be wary!)

I told the waitress & got a free ice cream sandwich as compensation. Made me extra happy!!
